Position: Software Development Manager Total experience: 12+ yrs Required Skills: Basic Qualification: Relevant Software Development experience. People management experience. Proven ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements. Proven analytical and quantitative skills ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop project business cases and deciding the right priority. Proven ability to architect large scale systems. High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications. Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously. Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees. Proficiency in Java OR C++, and Object-oriented Design Preferred Qualification: Master's degree or relevant work experience Experience with Oracle databases Experience developing for mobile devices (IOS, Android) Perl, SQL and experience with Linux A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects Will have experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems in a production environment Ideal candidates will show excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, with an enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve customer problems As the technology leader for the Traffic organization, you’ll be expected to: Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach. Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules. Manage departmental resources including staffing, mentoring, developing and challenging a best-in-class engineering team. Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
